NEW YORK, NEW YORK

Hello and welcome!

I moved to New York City from Tennessee. Let me tell you about it. This August, I transferred to The Fashion Institute of Technology from The University of Kentucky, and this is the first time I have ever lived outside the south. Thank god I'm here. It was about damn time. I'm a server at a big, fancy Manhattan restaurant that I am in no way qualified to work at, and I after the first round of exams I'm not doing so hot in fashion school either. I'm exhausted every day and no matter how much sleep I get, it's never enough. This shit is hard! But every morning I wake up in NEW YORK CITY. Even going to get a croissant for breakfast by myself feels magical. Every subway ride to work or class I feel like I'm in a movie. This is the greatest city in the world. No doubt about it. The never-ending chaos infatuates me. I have dreamed of moving to this very place since I popped out of the womb. So finally getting here, I imagined a kind of a big, scary climatic moment. Maybe it wouldn't be all that I imagined it to be. At the very least I expected some kind of adjustment. There was none. From the day I got here. This place was home. Two months later and I'm even more in love with this city.

See you soon! : )
